Dreaming of Fireplaces: Inspo for the Holiday Season

Santa comes down that chimney in just a few short weeks! It’s no secret that my favorite spot in my new home is curled up in my family room next to a fire. We’re so grateful to have a spot to enjoy family time and get cozy. (Psst if you make it to the end of this post, you can see what we’re doing to our fireplace for the holidays!)

As a realtor, I’ve been seeing a lot of Fireplaces this year that are getting Santa-ready! It’s usually such the focal point of every room. This means decorating it takes time and thoughtfulness. In honor of the coziest time of the year, I went on a hunt for the best fireplaces in my market right now!

Here are some of the Best Fireplace Inspirations of DuPage County.

Cozy up with Something on the Traditional Side:

Address: 378 Amy Ct, Glen Ellyn
This is one of three fireplaces in this Glen Ellyn home, so you can claim this one as your own and let the rest of the family fight over the other two! The combo of the red brick, craftsman mantle and the coffered ceiling is just the very first glance when you walk in the door — aren’t you now excited to see the rest of the house?

Wow! Two Story Fireplace:

Address: 732 68th Place, Willowbrook
Okay truthfully, I’m not sure Santa would appreciate this extra long chimney to shimmy down, but once he steps out into this Great Room, he’ll get over that quickly — because WOW! Actually, this house has a few jaw-drop moments. While Santa will be entering through the back of the house, the curb appeal of this classic brick-front Colonial is gorgeous.

Feel the Warmth:

Address: 849 Hillside, Naperville
Can’t you just feel the warmth of this room coming right through the picture? Without a doubt, many happy memories were made in this large family room, with the fire as the focal point. This home was built in 2005 and the overall attention to detail is impressive.

Vintage Inspired Fireplace:

Address: 4641 Seeley Avenue, Downers Grove
There aren’t many homes around like this in DuPage anymore — Built in 1932, just think of how many times Santa has come down this Chimney! It’s a rare find with charming touches in Downers Grove, but what really amazes me about this home is the yard.
Check it out here: 4641 Seeley Avenue

Fireplace Focal Point:

Address: 515 W Park Avenue, Wheaton
Ever walk into a room and just go, “Yes.” ? That’s how I’m feeling about this fireplace. It’s not showy, but it certainly has a warm presence. The stonework proves a graceful attention to detail. And those ceiling beams? They’re 100 yr old reclaimed wood.
Spoiler Alert! There’s an amazing pool outside those windows!! You’re gonna want to see it here: 515 W Park Avenue

Outdoor Fireplace:

Address: 1570 Winberie Court, Naperville
Santa can take his pick of the two indoor fireplaces, but this one is all mine! IS there anything better than an outdoor fireplace?! If this isn’t enough reason to spend all your time outside, this home is overlooking the 17th green at White Eagle Golf Club — IT’S GORGEOUS! All that, and I still haven’t even mentioned anything about the inside of this 4400 sq ft home!
Seriously, you’ll want to see it all here: 1570 Winberie Court
